Always a highlight of the year, the Ouimet Fund’s 21st annual Investing in Lifetimes Reception was held at Wellesley Country Club on June 12. With a group of nearly 200 Scholars, Alumni, and donors in attendance, the reception enabled Scholars to meet directly with the donors who have helped them afford the rising cost of college through the Named Endowed Scholarship program.
During the speaking program, the attendees heard from student speaker Kevin Pumphret ‘25 (George Wright Golf Course), a Ouimet Scholar and rising senior at Quinnipiac University. Ouimet Fund Development Committee Chair Jeff Holland ‘98 then reflected on paying it forward to create the Holland Family Scholarship in 2020, which will continue to positively impact future Ouimet Scholars for generations to come.
Andrew Munchbach ‘05 was presented with the Robert P. McDonald Alumni Award and spoke about his father George’s named endowed scholarship, which was established in 2022 by the Munchbach family. As part of his acceptance remarks, Munchbach said “the return on investment, especially when you invest in the young, could not be higher.”
Ouimet Fund Club Relations Chair John Dolan ‘01 closed by hosting a panel discussion with representatives from three prominent caddie programs across the state: Ken Charpentier (Sacconnesset Golf Club), Michael Moore, PGA (The Kittansett Club), and Andrew Sbordone (Charles River Country Club).
