This award was established in 1998 and is named after Mr. Bailey, a former member of Charles River and Brae Burn Country Clubs who played frequently with Francis Ouimet. Mr. Bailey was an insurance executive who died in 1967.
The Bailey scholarship winner for 2009-2010 is Jarrod Milshtein of Newton. Jarrod performed his service to golf at Charles River Country Club, working in the bag room for three years, and is a freshman at Boston University where he is majoring in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation he would like to work in the mechanical engineering field, hopefully helping to solve some of the world’s problems with alternative energy.
